I'm sorry to hear that. A shame we won't be seeing more new from her
(depending on what her partner has), though I suspect we will be
seeing more past works translated.

I read your review of _Vita Nostra_ and bought and read it. It is
indeed quite good and quite different (and quite dark).

The one who died is the husband, Sergey (Sergueï in French, Сергій
in Ukrainian, Сергей in Russian.)

I see that Serhiy Dyachenko and his wife were currently living in
California within the United States, and that he was 77 years old.

Thus, natural causes, rather than Russian military aggression, is presumably
the likely cause of death.
