She would sing, each time that she went there,
Of a greyish eagle of the steppe,
Of the one whom she loved and held dear,
Of the one whose letters she would keep.

Oh, you song, you song of a young lady,
After the bright sun please fly away.
And to soldier in far foreign country
Send Katyusha's greetings every day.

Let him be reminded of girl simple,
Let him hear her songs from far away,
Let him keep the land that is most dear
And the love, Katyusha will maintain.
