So we got Buzzworthy Origins Jazz, he has a fake car chest still because he did in the cartoon, it looks like the real car hood flips over from his back. I don't have a real comparison but he does look smaller than SS Jazz. I'm sure he's reusing parts, but they're not from SS Jazz or Origins BB.

SS Snarl looks like an oversized G1 with few more joints which is what a lot of people here really wanted. He doesn't have the clear helmet like the toy though. Just a big yellow head which looks odd but not enough to not buy him, but like it should have at least a panel line. His tail also doesn't have a lot of plates on it and seems a bit sparse.

I saw a comparison picture with Studio Series Jazz somewhere (Twitter, maybe?) and they look like they're nearly the same size. I can't tell if he's reusing parts or not—if they're not from the Studio Series toy, then where would they be from?

Aww, I love his widdle dinosaur mouth. It always bothered me as a kid that he was the only Dinobot toy who didn't have a working jaw. (I always thought the reason that the G1 toy came with an extra-wide Autobot symbol, with the fat nose, was so you could cut it in half and put each half on top of his dinosaur head. It wasn't pre-cut, though, so you'd have to do it yourself.)

Somebody on Reddit pointed out that they are releasing the Studio Series Dinobots in the exact order their names were mentioned in the cartoon. In "S..O.S. Dinobots," Wheeljack says, "Allow me to introduce... Grimlock, Slag, and Sludge!" and we got those guys first, in that order. And then of course we get, "I am Snarl!" and "call me Swoop!" from "War of the Dinobots." I guess it *could* be a coincidence, but I honestly think they did it on purpose.

Zob (and it looks more and more like Skar will be the Core-class ankylosaurus Dinobot)

Snarl doesn't speak to me; he seems like an obligatory purchase rather than a necessary one. I skipped Sludge due to the numerous QC reports so a complete set of Dinos is not in the cards for me. Scale aside, I'm perfectly happy with PotP Sludge and Snarl.

Swoop, on the other hand, is going to be an instant buy from me. They better not omit his launchers this time though.

I didn't hear about the QC issues with Sludge, I only heard people bitching about the windowless box and assumed they were just being childish.
I also didn't get Sludge just because I never really had any connection to Sludge.

> Swoop, on the other hand, is going to be an instant buy from me. They better not omit his launchers this time though.

I don't know if I'd prefer a red or blue Swoop, but the launchers are a part of his dino mode so he definitely needs them.
If Grimlock came with Wheelie, Slag came with Daniel, Sludge came with a gun, Swoop can get launchers. They would really have to screw up on Swoop for me to not get him.

Childish folks in this fandom? Shut the front door...

On the QC side, a number of folks had issues with loose hips and knees due to the ratchet pawls, as well as loose wing hinges. One fan over at TFW posted a fix, but frankly, for $50, I shouldn't have to.

Let's not kid ourselves. If they do a red and blue, I'll get them both.

Amen.

They must have redesigned his feet or something. There's a big gap in his belly where the robot feet were very clearly meant to tuck away at one stage, but on the final toy the gap isn't even utilized, and the robot toes poke out from the underside of the dinosaur belly. A lot of people also reported the robot knees were really loose.

If it's Studio Series, they're going to design him like the cartoon. So, blue chest and missile launchers on the wings, but probably no sword. This isn't like the early days of the world market unification where they did both a red and blue version of the Power of the Primes toy.

Hasbro said that costs jumped up after they produced Grimlock and Slag. They were anticipating it, though, and it's one of the reasons they originally threw in the mini-figures—so they could have something they could easily remove, as was the case with Sludge, without negatively affecting the engineering of the main toy. So, Snarl and Swoop aren't going to come with mini-figures. But, I'm sure he'll have his launchers, because they're the only weapons he uses in the show.

So much for Swoop getting a weapons pack to fill in the missing gap from the others.
