Yup. Read this in a book, John Scalzi's “Agent to the Stars”. Recommended.

And how could I forget David Weber in his 1992 "Mutineer's Moon" which I
should have mentioned.

Blish's "Earthman, Come Home" introduces us to the planet He, which is flung uncontrollably out of orbit as a drastic means of cutting back its jungle (no sunlight, no jungle) but is brought into control as a dirigible planet by its inhabitants.

And there is "With Friends Like These..." by Alan Dean Foster about the
Earth being freed from the tractor beam by the space aliens. The
Earthlings then follow the space aliens to their home star system using
Earth. The last line of the short story is, "Look, they are bringing
their moon.". "Yeah, one grows fond of one's moon."

Then there was one of the favorite weapons of the Lensmen, two planets
with opposing intrinsics. Sandwich the target between them and kill
the Bergs.

IIRC, EE Smith has dirigible planets used as relativistic speed kinetic weapons.
Including antimatter planets.

/The Wandering Earth/ has our planet exiting the Solar System to avoid
our Sun's exploding (or some such handwavium) and having a too-close
encounter with Jupiter. This was a movie, but, IIRC, it was based on a
novel (or a manga).

If it ever made it out of the Solar System, that would make it a
"rogue planet" with rockets and a guidance system.

Made in China, with subtitles, iirc. Medium-low budget and SFX

The thing that struck me most about it was the huge portion of the
plot that was a car chase (involving huge arctic crawler vehicles, but
still a chase.)

In Poul Anderson's _Satan's World_, a sun-less planet is
discovered. Such turn out to have amazing industrial uses.
If we can take possession of it without fighting a war
with its discoverers.

Well, Martin also had a non-dirigible wandering planet back when he was
finishing projects, and then there were Bronson Alpha & Beta.

And had little to do with the source story (as usual for movies). The
original story had a strong pro-China propaganda vibe too IMO.

Well, yeah, the author lives in China and wants to (a) remain alive
and (b) get published. I can't fault him for that.

I loved the movie "The Wandering Earth". I have watched it three times
now. Very hard science.

Earth had been surrounded with a force field because they were on a path
to overtake the galaxy. Now there's a new unstoppable force and the once
enemy aliens want earth to fight the new menace. Turns out earthlings
have developed immense mental powers and when the field is dropped they
just tag along after the alien ship by moving the earth, and the moon of
course.

The classic Golden Age story of this sort is "Thundering Worlds" by
Edmond Hamilton. In that, ALL of the planets of the Solar System are
outfitted with jets and head out looking for a new sun. I think they
even used one of the (Mercury maybe) as a weapon at some point.

I really liked that story because it made my Physics Major head hurt so
much reading it.

Not just mental powers - they've uplifted many animals, and it seems the
entire planet's surface hides a Krell-like technology level. Even a ten year old boy
has awesome destructive power at his command.

But to the casual observer, Earth is a bucolic farming community .

Its a great story.
