I notice that Flash #123 is illustrated by the cover of a reprint edition.

Cute, adding Dobbs vs. Jackson Women's Health Organization, the case in
which Trump's Supreme Court overturned Roe vs. Wade, in a footnoote to a
discussion of Shadow of Earth.

For an adventure story set in alternate earth, I recommend Stirling's "Conquistador"

+1

Steven Gould's "Wildside" is awesome.

And so is Dennis Taylor's "Outland".

And Orson Scott Card's new "Wakers" book is very good too.

| It was pointed out to me that I overlooked an obvious alternative to
| implausible faster-than-light travel in this essay: there’s no need to
| travel long distances to visit extrasolar worlds if one can simply step
| from one version of Earth to another version.

Which is why working physicist John Cramer used this (at least)
twice:

_Twistor_
http://home.pages.de/~naddy/reviews/Twistor.html

_Einstein's Bridge_
http://home.pages.de/~naddy/reviews/EinsteinsBridge.html

I'm pointing to my old reviews because I don't really remember the
novels at this point.
