xkcd: Battery Life
https://xkcd.com/2680/

Yeah, at some point getting a bigger battery really sucks. I do have
two of the laptop batteries in cell phone chargers for conventions.
They work ok and hold about 4X the power of a regular cell phone battery.

When I was growing up, if you told me the amount of time I now spend
thinking about the State Of Charge of various rechargeable batteries,
I'd have called you a liar.

House (I have Powerwalls on order)
Car
Phone
iPad
Laptop
Watch
Earbuds

....and that just the stuff used frequently.

I suppose you can charge up a lot of the things from the
other things.

My observation: I can charge my oldish phone from a
pocket-sized "powerbank", if I remember to charge that.
But if I don't unplug the power bank then, it will keep
running... until empty... and then the phone battery starts
quickly running down.

So why is it called a smart phone?

Because it is more capable than many of the people who use them. :P

I almost bought five Powerwalls and a 25 kW solar system for my house in
2021 for $65,000. Instead, I bought a 38 kW natural gas generator for
$25,000 installed. Much cheaper but I would have gotten free
electricity with the solar system. I am still paying 11 cents/kwh for
electricity but my new contract in February will probably be 16 cents/kwh.

I'm only getting two - it will let me run my house for about a day, longer if
I conserve power. They're expensive.

My wife is heavy into 'reduce carbon footprint'. I can't complain; its why I
was able to talk her into our buying a Tesla car. We also have heatpumps,
and are now adding solar and batteries.

[I tried to get Tesla solar tiles a couple years ago. That had to be abandoned
for [long story].]

One part of the system allows the utility to use some of my storage as a
unit in a 'Virtual Power Plant', essentially turning thousands of consumer
powerwalls into a distributed peaker power plant, replacing gas turbine
peakers. I get a check each time that happens.

I explained I can get two of my things to un-charge
each other.

Another time, due to various problems coinciding,
I've taken advantage of a bus service with USB charging
ports on board for equipment of patrons, to charge one
small personal "powerbank" - while my phone was charging
from another "powerbank".

My powerbank has a USB-C connection, which carries charge either in or out, a USB-A connection which is says is for out only, and a USB mini connection which is only for power in. I suppose with the proper cord I could plug it into itself and see what it does. The powerbank means I don't have to worry about the State Of Charge of my phone, my bone-conduction headset, or my old phone, which is the MP3 player I carry around at work while my phone is in my locker incommunicado, saving battery. (On home wi-fi my old phone is also my world's smallest tablet device.)

My brother appointed me tech support for the fitness watch and tablet he gave our mom, so I charge those up on a semi-regular basis, also her cell phone and digital camera when she needs them.

As to the special A/B cable:

might be an interesting thing to do

might not want to be nearby when you try it, though

and trying it in a container unlikely to catch on fire might be a good
idea
