I have seen /Motherless Brooklyn/ and, as such, it isn't half bad.
However the making of (IIRC -- I rented it on DVD and some DVDs had
these on them, as opposed to just their titles in the idiotic idea
that people would buy the DVD to get the allegedly-special features)
stated pretty clearly that, while the /character/ Motherless Brooklyn
(and perhaps others) was taken from the book, the /story/ was not.
Perhaps IMDb or Wikipedia would have more information.
