Five Out-of-Print Books Every SFF Reader Should Try to Find

In person, I mean. No offence to online used book sellers but buying
online doesn't have the same zing as searching through stacks of
old books.

I have both _Amazons!_ and _Gifts of Blood_ (Baen paperback). BTW, I
also have _Amazons II_ (just a side affect of buying around 200 books a
year for decades). For that matter, I have some of titles mentioned in
the comments.

Is there a reason "The Fortunate Fall" is listed as by Cameron Reed when the cover clearly says Raphael Carter? Ordinarily I'd assume a pen name, but neither wikipedia nor isdfb suggest this is the case.

Ah, thanks! Interestingly, she talks of her partner Pamela Dean who was/is married to former rasfw-er David Dyer-Bennet.

Zero for five here.

Half Price Books ( www.hpb.com ) is a good place to wander through. I
have bought many used books from then in person and through their Amazon
listings. They have over 120 stores around the USA and have been in
business for 50 years. Sorry, none in Canada.

It was a rare visit to half-price in Austin that didn't see my wallet thinner by $200.

Then they opened one in College station. Paradise. (Though the amazing "Joe's Books"
offered stiff competition.)

We do not lack for great used book stores here.

When I said in the article,

"Originally published under a now disused byline," I meant
that Reed used at that time a name different from the one
Reed now uses, that no longer used one being the one on
the cover.

Wikipedia says polyamory, not hexapodia, is the key insight.

In connection with an earlier review of yours linked to from this review...

The Wikipedia page on Rob Tellure did not have a section on his personal
life which listed the names of the women to which he was married.

But it did give a list to his web page.

http://www.robchilson.name/index.html

His web page had two photos of him. One of them was taken by... Alyson
Tellure.

Could Alison Tellure have been the (rather transparent) pen name of
Alyson Tellure? Or could Rob Tellure be keeping the identity of his wife a
closely guarded secret to protect her, so that she is still hidden behind
her pen name as a photographer?

Inquiring minds might want to know, but at this point I got so confused
that I gave up.

Or are they members of extremely small [*]
science fiction writer group, The Tellurians?

[*] Although very nearly everybody is eligible. ;-)
