What about the Imperial Security headquarters on Barrayar? I have the
impression that it was an ungodly hybrid of Gothic and Brutalist design.

I remember reading that instead of an unfolded hypercube, Heinlein's
original intention for the eponymous Crooked House was to have it composed
of 120 dodecahedra, in the shape of the unfolded surface of the 120-cell.

An editor convinced him to make the story more understandable to readers
who may not have known what a Schafli symbol was.

The books in which it appeared in all of its dubious glory exist.

In the 3 star The Bookstore at the End of America by Charlie Jane
Anders, the building is an integral part of the setting and plot.

In the 4 star Piranesi by Suzanna Clarke, the bizarre building is an
integral part of the plot and also sets the tone.

Although the bizarre crookedness of the house is described in detail in
the 5 star Little, Big by John Crowley, I still had trouble
understanding it.
