Showing in the UK on "Legend", that sounds interesting...
what does Wikipedia say...

"Working title: Satellite of Blood"

I judge that this isn't a good sign. YMMV.

By the way, the synopsis doesn't seem to mention
a satellite per se. There is a high altitude rocket-plane
that... rockets. And, as conceivably a spoiler, what goes
up does come down. So far, so Quatermass Xperiment.

I may let this one go.

Due to events in 1957, the word "satellite" was big in the news. Many people seemed to take it as a ten dollar word for "spaceship." This was the only monetary extravagance allowed for some filmmakers, and they ran with it. "The Attack of the 50 Foot Woman"(1958) used it to describe the landing craft of the 50 foot alien that kicks off that movie's events. "War of the Satellites"(1958) might seem to use it correctly, if we take it to mean "War about the Satellites," with early talk of our launching satellites, and aliens taking affront at that, but in the end, we find our fledgling satellite is, in the words of the film, "passing through Andromedae at the speed of light."

Not sure I heard of this movie under either title, but, not in the UK, I will necessarily let this one go.

Awful Grade B science-fiction films can sometimes be found online on places like YouTube
or Dailymotion, because unlike recent blockbusters, their copyright is not so vigilantly
defended.

Although it certainly _sounds_ like a movie that is not worth bothering
with, somehow it managed to get on a DVD made by *Criterion*, of all

So maybe, just maybe, it might not be all *that* bad.

They also put out /Armageddon/, known to be a large steaming cowpie of
a movie.

Criterion won its reputation in the LaserDisc market. My understanding
is that they pioneered things like commentaries.

They are, however, very reliable. I was very happy when the did
/Charade/, for example, because I knew that, if a complete print
existed or could be recreated, that is what they would be using.

As opposed to the el-cheapo it replaced, which lacked two minutes
containing /every single really neat scene/, obviously lost when the
owner of the film copy they used played them over and over and over
until the film broke.
