unlike Clasener I actually *understand* things like carburetors and
power brake systems, and also unlike Clasener I actually work on this
stuff everyday rather than sit around at home telling everyone how good

does :)

As the old saying goes, "Those who can, do. Those who can't, teach. You

This is an automotive forum, I spent my entire working career in the
automotive sphere. On that basis alone, my presence here can be
justified. My working career was real, unlike Darren's entirely *fake*
and imaginary career in automotive. Grandiose and fake. FFS, no less
than 3 apprenticeships and two trade qualifications? How narcissistic is
that? FWIW, Darren's grandiose claims of possession of multiple trade
qualifications are an affront to *anyone* in the trade who *earnt* real
qualifications. As I have oft stated, Darren is nothing more than a
pimple on the arse of the motor trade and it's people like him the VACC
are trying to kick out of the trade. The unmistakeable irony of Darren,
the automotive fraud, trying to claim 20+ years membership of *that*
organisation.
That said, presence in this forum does not require one to be motor trade
qualified in any way, just mere possession of an *interest* in matters
automotive. Someone who bullshits their qualifications and trade
relevance, as Darren has long done, is anathema to *any* discussion
forum since their pretence at relevance, and lack of real automotive
knowledge, can lead others into costly disasters, the absolute perfect
example being Les with his 4AGE(20) engine and employing Dumb and Dumber
to work on it. That's what narcissistic bullshit claims of trade
relevance gets you - a totalled engine.
Why am I still here? Put simply, I'm here to expose a fraud. Darren
tried to trash my credibility. What's that saying, people in glass
houses... doesn't pay to draw attention to someone else if you can't
back up your own claims and now Darren's been exposed as the fraud he
always was. Darren presence here is rather subdued of late but his
toxicity still lingers. That alone justifies my presence here. Of
course, he could always stump up proof of his claims. After all, I did!

BTW have you ever fitted a Holley Stinger EFI system with the matching
distributor?
This week we fitted one to the 383 in the Torana, bit of work running an
extra fuel return line and doing all the wiring, took a while but it
fired right up and idled nicely straight away.
Put it into learning mode and took it for a drive, all hell breaks loose
when you go past half throttle and the secondaries open up, engine
supposedly has 460hp and the way it goes the number seems right:-)
Other job we are working on is fixing Les's race car after he hit a tyre
wall at Winton a few weeks ago, bottom ball joint snapped and he lost
steering, after a bit of investigation we found that that model Birkin
is known for ball joint problems so we are modifying it and making it a
lot stronger.
Had to make a new bottom wishbone and replace the bent shocker shaft, he
was doing about 120kph when it broke, gravel trap slowed him down but
its still did a lot of damage, but luckily no chassis damage.
Only injury was to his pride and wallet:-)

No, but I have a feeling I'll be doing one soon for the bloke up the
road on his bog block powered Impala.

Part of the reason I've volunteered to do the neighbour's car is because
I've been thinking about putting one on the F100 when it gets it's 5
litre Windsor transplant. I've bought headers with bungs in them already
for the wideband sensors and at the moment I'm tossing up between the
Holley Sniper, the Factory XR8 injector which I already have or keeping
it all "old school" and just putting a carburetor on it.

They're an impressive bit of kit. The only thing I *don't* like about
them are the distributors. Holley bought out MSD, and when MSD stuff was
made in the US it was bullet proof. Now, like a lot of stuff, MSD gear
is made in China and it's reliability has taken a massive nose dive. So
much so that a lot of people are pulling out their MSD gear and changing
to Petronix or even using modified Duraspark systems on Ford engines.

The worst thing about the current crop of MSD stuff is the price. A new
"ready to run" pro billet Dizzy for a small Ford Windsor is over a grand
out the door, while Chinese knock offs that look like they're made in
the same factory without having the "MSD" sticker put on them are a
hundred and fifty bucks :)

He can count his blessings. Could have been a lot worse by the sounds of
it. I saw him the other day. He was driving into Bacchus in the Lotus
just as I was going over the bridge getting ready to turn up to my
place. I waved, but as usual he was going *way* too fast to see :)

Interesting thing with the Holley EFI is that at a quick glance with the
air filter on it looks like a carby so it has the old school look with
modern EFI tune ability.
One thing I like about the Holley EFI is its ability to control
accessories such as AC and radiator fans etc much like a Haltech etc and
it comes with its own small touch screen that can program it all.

I didn't bother to ask how much the kit cost but I'd bet it wasn't cheap.
Funny thing is he (Les's son) paid $45k for the Torana, spent shit loads
on the 383 etc but its doubled in value so the increase in value has
well and truly covered what he's spent.

Yeah, the functionality of them is great. Being designed to fit onto a
standard squarebore manifold is an excellent idea, as not only does it
make the system cheaper, but easier to install *and* with the added
bonus that you get to continue to use your existing manifold if it's one
you're happy with.

Looks like Clasener is feeling a bit irrelevant and playing the victim.
Perhaps he should brush up on his language skills a bit and appreciate
that no one said anything about his "right" to be here. He has just as
much right as anyone else to be here, and his "career" in the
"automotive sphere" is completely irrelevant in that regard. Felix knows
absolutely jack shit about cars but he has just as much right to be here
has Clasener or anyone else does :)

What *was* said was that Clasener has no fucking idea what he's talking
about when it comes to cars, and that much is glaringly obvious to
anyone who does.

Perhaps we should ask Jerky Birko about that? He likes thinking of
himself as an expert in a position of authority, so perhaps we should
ask *him* what he thinks of Clasener's suggestion that you can
accurately simulate the feel of a non boosted brake system by
disconnecting the vacuum supply of a boosted brake system?

Whadaya say Jerky? Do you agree with this or not? You don't need to
elaborate. You don't need to make a long winded completely irrelevant
post that avoids the question. *All* you need to do is state a simple
