The government have made it impossible to track covid, made it impossible to analyse the wave we are currently engulfed in. The covid dashboard has been shut down, the data which is now being presented as current is weeks old, important metrics are simply missing. It would be easy to believe covid doesn't exist, as the government would like us to believe.

Luckily others do know the true picture, have the resources to track what is going on from data which isn't being fiddled by our government.

We probably won't ever know if the North East and North West push past London and the South East; we aren't meant to. But we do have the headline figures which count; infections and deaths.

The current figures are correct, are as reported, but the huge week-on-week increases can be taken with a pinch of salt. Those simply reveal the scale of the under-reporting and deceit our government has indulged in.

Rates of change should have sorted themselves in a couple of weeks and this will be the data source I will be using going forward.

It appears we have a problem. With the government no longer keeping numbers updated it seems aggregators have no more to go on than anyone else.

Even more surprising, though the numbers jumped massively when we moved to this data last week, it appears that data itself was well outdated.

So, apart from knowing the numbers are far higher than the government had let on, we don't and won't ever know the true and full truth.

After three years, it seems it's really not worth tracking UK infections and death any longer. Covid has finally become just like Winter Flu. We don't care that it's killing people and we don't count the deaths.

It's hard to tell what's going on in America. The numbers are up and down like a yo-yo.

According to official figures they are heading back to a 9-11's worth of covid deaths every day.

The pandemic is most definitely not over. No matter how many governments try to fool their citizens into believing it is.

So that's the end of coronavirus tracking. It has finally become "just like winter flu" because governments don't care how many it kills. They can pretend the pandemic is over simply by not reporting the thousands it is still killing each week.

That shows 37% of Brits were infected, and 34% of Americans.

Both show almost 4 in every 1,000 were killed by covid. Though the ratio was worse in America than the UK it seems fair to say the UK suffered as badly under Johnson as the USA did under Trump.

New Zealand was always the comparative reference point. The country which did far better by imposing prompt and proper lockdown and then pursuing herd immunity only after the virus weakened and effective vaccinations and treatments were available -

NZ Infected : 2,621,111
NZ Deaths : 5,697

As a result, over half of New Zealanders were infected (51%), but only 1 in 1,000 died, just a quarter of the number killed in the UK and US.

If Johnson had done it properly, if Matt Hancock hadn't played Doctor Death with his care home genocide we could have kept deaths at 50,000. Almost 200,000 deaths (78%) were caused by government policy and incompetence.

If Trump had done it properly, American deaths could have been limited to half a million. Almost a million deaths (75%) were due to Trump, his covid denial, and his refusal to keep Americans safe.
