It was certainly over 35C at times when I rode from the Picos to Navia
and then on to Porto in Sept 2018. 43C by the time I got to Porto. Not
one day of rain in 2 weeks.

You may want to look up the The Salvador Way that goes through the
capital of Asturias, Oviedo. I criss crossed the route a number of times
as I rode about from my base in Navia.

As I rode from Porto to Bilbao vie Len I encountered more roads
labelled as Camino de Santiago so there are several routes.

Wow. Canned garden.

The pair would make the trip in stages with a donkey, and pay for food
and lodging when they could with red peppers from Mr. Jato’s garden that
he canned, much like the pilgrims of yore did.
