Trying to update the software on my 7thgen iPad and I keep getting the
message about the download being corrupted and to try again. Happened 3
times in succession yesterday and now twice already this morning. The
iPhone update went off without a hitch. Anyone else having problems?

Turn your iPad completely off, restart and then try again.

SWMBO had similar problems with her iPad. In the end I turned the damn
thing off, waited a wee while, turned it back on and all was fine. My iPad
updated perfectly much to her annoyance!

Tried that, still no joy, perhaps I didn't leave it off long enough. I
had the reverse, SWMBO's iPad2 updated perfectly.

Where does the update download too on the Mac? Perhaps the corrupted
version is blocking te fresh download?

Somewhere inaccessible I suspect. You could download the appropriate Ipsw
file to a Mac and upgrade the iPad via connecting by cable to the Mac.

Thanks, I've tried doing it direct from the iPad and it seems quite

Hope so! The link I posted started giving me all sorts of pop ups when I
clicked on it on my iPad. However it seems OK on my iPhone. I’ll sort out
the iPad’s ad blockers later.

You should always update your iPad and iPhone 'diectly' - the only time
I connect my wife's iPhone to my iMac is to update it due to lack of
storeage space.

Now successfully updated, I still reckon there is a corrupted file
somewhere on the Mac that was blocking my attempts.

The updates files used to be stored under ~/Library/iTunes but I haven’t
done an iOS or iPadOS update via my Mac for some time so the location may
have been changed.
