After much ebaying, mending, spraying, and DIY machining, it appears
to be ready to MOT, well, apart from the tyres. Oh, and I need to
remove the lever guard - it flops around now.

The job took a lot of ebaying, various forms of DIY plastic repair,
DIY spray jobs, and DIY machining of a replacement LH footpeg hanger.

Annoyingly, I found that the grash bungs [typo left in: the
portmanteau for "gash crash bungs" seems apposite], in addition to
quite possibly causing the tumble, didn't even fully protect the
engine cases after all. Still mulling over how I'm going to protect
the bike in future, but some sort of tank sliders and case-specific
protectors, possibly, or maybe just farining sliders of some sort.

The New Look isn't that different from the Old Look, though I think it
is a bit smarter, if you don't examine it too closely.

He appears to have an overabundance of grit, pep, get-up-and-go &

Wow, you are a productive fellow. I'd still be looking at it, pretty pissed off.

Fuknose. It was on the panels that I bought off ebay. I might try
using a heat gun to remove that sticker, actually.

The bike was originally silver, and had silver side panels. The
previous owner, Andy B of this parish, had damaged one of the
originals, but had bought a couple of green ones, fortuitously (or
maybe not) pre-drilled for crash bungs. Those were the ones I had
fitted before.

After the crash, I put the original left silver one back on, repaired
and resprayed the right green one to match (just don't look too
closely at the bottom rear corner). That leaves the screen, top panel
and top side panels, all of which were also trashed. The top panel and
screen came from ebay as a set in silver and the upper sides
(aftermarket) came in green. In fact, Andy had also provided a top
right panel in green, so that is fitted, with the aftermarket one on
that side as a spare.

The black tailpiece was something I had bought pre-emptively a few
years ago.

The fuel tank was originally a rather nice shade of blue; I've left
the underside unpainted.

It all looks fine from a distance; close up, you can see where my lack
of patience in paint preparation asserted itself.

That phrase did pop into my mind while I was repainting bits, but
technically it's "Raw Titanium".
