Yes, I tried googling the name, no luck.
You can see 4 sparkplugs but it sound like more.
The general clatter sounds a bit air cooled.
That narrows it down a bit.
The original application was rear engined so it would make a nice trike
power unit. (Of which there are already some)

A lot of WW2 era tanks used petrol engines, particularly the German
ones, whi didn't have any suitable Diesel engines at the time.

Anyway, it's pbviously far too small for a tank engine anyway. A
little googling confirms other earlier claims - it's a 2.9l V8 out of
the Tatra T87 car. See third picture here:

Indeed. The Rolls-Royce Meteor tank engine was based on the Merlin
aero-engine. I knew a bloke in Sweden who owned one.

Before turbos arrived, diesels were big heavy and much less powerful
than petrol engines. The Russians used diesels because they had
problems refining enough petrol apparently. TIL that a lot of German
WW2 vehicles used gas generators fueled by coal or even wood, which
wouldn't work with a diesel. It is also handy if all your vehicles,
planes, tanks,lorries,cars and motorcycles can all use the same fuel.

American forces tended to use diesel ones

Hence "Tommy Cooker" when they caught fire, which they did rather too
readily, I believe.

Yes apparently but the main reason they went up was the ammunition the
was stored dry, later it was kept wet. I imagine that the british mainly
had medium tanks in North Africa because of shipping difficulties so
less armour to protect them from anti tank guns.

The same was true of much post D day as it was sheer numbers of tanks in
support of the infantry that counted.
