You need to tale care checking, as most now contain some form of dairy
derived flabour. For irony, in the 197os, I had a Vegan friend (Not
strictly so, as he drank beer, which used fish based finings at the
time) who found that the only vegan crisps in our local were actually
beef flavoured.

Now there is a new excuse for a conversation with the great white

Isinglass is also used to clarify many beers.

Indeed it is, and when I brewed beers[1150] I used it (not knowing
where it came from) which is how I know for sure that it doesn't (at least
in homeopathic quantities) trigger my fish allergy.

[1150] My barley wine was popular mostly I think due to its OG being fairly
high - the recipe was based on one in Ken Shales' book.

Yes, that's how we know we're coming to the peak of the sigmoid and
not on an exponential. The best estimates seem to agree on it stabilising at
about ten billion around 2050.

There's been a UN working group attacking the problem of feeding
that many people for some years now - many of the 'superfoods' that appear
and vanish ultimately derive from their market testing. It's actually quite
hard to get better protein yield per acre than pigs or chickens (including
the feed and the transport fuel for it), but the best of the unpalatable
superfoods do a lot better.

I have been told that vegetarian black pudding is not bad to eat. I
dunno, don't think I've tasted it. I have eaten BPs that didsn't make
any veggy claims, but the ingreediments list showed them to be ~80%
grain - not nice, you might be better off with an honest veggy one.

I haven't been, but I may start ...

If there were, would there be other labs struggling to make rump steak
cheaper to produce than cauliflower, in order to justify the existence
of the first lot ?

Usually found on the road after horses have passed[2].
