I fail to see how this is a win for Russia. Spares cannot be obtained legitimately, the aircraft cannot be flown outside Russia (and maybe its vassal states) due to no recognised insurance or airworthiness certificates and the prospect of being repossessed.

Putin's also started a Stalinesque regime of purging generals for not achieving his plans for Ukraine. It's all going downhill for Vlad (the impaler?).

We'll see, its has only been 2 weeks. No one has ever
done an invasion of something that big that quickly
and even Putin didn't manage that with Chechnya and
Georgia and they are MUCH smaller than the Ukraine
and never had the same hatred of the russians.
