I presume you have bought Drill Land already, Mr Gloop?

HA! Where did this pop up from!?
Yes, I did get it and played it to death. It's a great rendition of the
game - but for one flaw... some of the music didn't make the transition,
for whatever reason. ie. One or two of the tunes aren't there.
Because of this, I found the "flow" of the game less-satisfactory than
the original Japanese GC release.

The music in the original seemed to be timed perfectly, subtly changing
to the next piece *just* as you move to a new level, if you are playing
it right.

On the Switch version, whether it's for the above reason or due to PAL
conversion type issues, there is less opportunity for the audio to sync
with gameplay. So there can often be a jarring audio cut as you move
from one level to the next.
Since audio is a big part of this game, I found it very distracting/
somewhat frustrating.

Possibly they've fixed this with an update. I'm getting itchy for a
Switchy again as I type this. It's been maybe a year since anyone here
even turned on the console - a game of Drill Land could be just the
ticket... if it wasn't for everything else ...and if it wasn't also for
Battlefield 2042 releasing today!

(Well, last night. I had a half hour or so on it at Midnight and enjoyed
it a lot, but not without many issues there too -more gameplay/ visuals
than network, I hasten to add. I'm guessing/ hoping they'll tweak the
look & feel. Not played today yet.)

So have you played Drill Land on Switch (Tim/ anyone else) and what did
you think of it?

-Kevin.
