Those whacky Thais done it again:

https://www.drive.com.au/news/youtuber-spends-one-year-building-a-bugatti-chiron-replica/

No welding glasses, no hearing protection, three guys, some rope and a
stick of bamboo to install an engine.

Aussie mechanics are wimps.

My 10yr old Grandson made a Bugatti Chiron when he was only 9:-)
Its Lego and is just as useful as the one you posted.
I recently watched a YouTube video about Chinese copies of various cars,
one was a copy a RR Phantom, didn't look too bad but it was powered by a
2.0lt 4cyl which is a bit under powered for a big heavy car.

**Doesn't matter. None of them will live very long. Zero OH&S. I noted
that the suspension was held together by what I would term: Temporary
welds. Just enough to hold it in place, until a proper weld could be
done. Trouble is, there were no proper welds.

They have zero regard for personal safety. Given their subscriber count
and views they would be earning a decent income especially for that part
of the world so you'd think they would invest in some equipment. Other
than that, pretty good.

No safety foot wear, one hand on the diamond saw, and a paper mask while
helping the painter????
I have a guy come in and use 2pack to spray a job around once a
fortnight, and after 40 years of inhaling fumes from drying/curing
resin, when my painter is finished, I bail out and go home, the
atmosphere is so toxic. terrible shit. Awesome paint, but...

I was intrigued watching them. I hate glassing upside down/above my
head. very messy. Hard enough on a vertical surface. they appeared to
use very light matt, which would mean multiple layers if they wanted any
strength. Me? use good old 600g chopped strand matt, tear the piece to
the shape you want, wet it out on a board, and basically throw it where
you want it. 3 layers properly wet out @ 2.2-1 and your done. Plenty
strong enough. I did note some heavy reinforcement being used, but not a
lot. It wont last in a car park accident. high speed? Shudder.

> reasonable painters. Pity none them could weld...:(

yup. would have liked to see a reasonable close up of the paint
finish... the prep looked a bit rough, and salty sweat footprints and
handprints on the base coat?

Still, they got the result they were after. Not my cup of tea...

Yes and no, amazing what people can do if they try, they made a car that
looks OK from a distance but it isn't a usable car by any reasonable
standard.
If it was only ever intended as a display model then its great, if they
wanted it to be a usable car then its a fail.
Reminds me a bit of the Torana a mates son bought, it was built as a
show car and by the look of it it was never meant to be driven very far,
its taken a lot of work to make it into a decent driver.
For example the car started out with drum brakes all round, when they
did the front disc conversion they didn't remove the check valve from
the master cylinder and the discs were getting very hot after driving a
short distance.

Not max either, he post through Google groups from a Victorian Big Pond
account.

The character we're talking about also posts in aus.computers under the
'nyms of "agent smith" and "granny smith".

It runs, it drives....Credit where credit`s due, it looks pretty good, and (the bodywork) mostly done by eye, is a credit to them.
I watched a vid with a crew of the old mates towing a small car into an alley, they pulled the engine out, dismantled and washed parts in the alley, took the block, crank etc., into their shop bored the block, ground the crank etc.. reassembled it and drove it away.. All in the space of a few hours...
Very capable ppl.

Maybe, But they didn`t consider it to be so. :)

Obviously, and it doesn't even make sense that you would post that.

Whoever. At the end of the day it would have been Felix who dragged them
in here with his incessant cross posting. We have him to thank for Alvey

Probably wrong, but irrelevant anyway as X-posting is perfectly allowable
in Usenet Fraudster

> We have him to thank for Alvey being here.

Definitely wrong.

Here's something that's definitely correct Fraudster. It's you, and you
alone, that's keeping me here. And as my presence annoys you so very, very
much then it makes it even more mysterious why you won't publish any proof
of your Big Claims. Why won't you do that Der Der?

btw... Those Year 9 certs from the Dept Ed. You were going to post them
before, why not now?
