For anyone interested...Joy reappeared last week after a gap of 238
episodes. Harrison had missed 107.
Pat was in seven consecutive episodes. I have been unable to find a
previous instance of a character doing that. ( hoping someone else knows)

Robert Snell used to regularly have lengthy gaps between being heard,
when his close friend was still working as a GP.

Hazel was quiet for years and Peggy (now on permanent leave) has had many
quiet periods, but at least she was mentioned from time to time. I worry
about Lewis and suspect he's been trapped in LL's attic by Russ.

As for multiple appearances over a couple of weeks, I doubt that is
extraordinary when they are central in the current arc.

These days it is a little odd as stories / characters tend to alternate
between days. Historically (and particularly when the number of village
voices heard was much smaller) I suspect it was a pretty common
occurrence to hear Dan or Doris or Phil pretty regularly.

Since I like stories with farming inthem ones with her are never my
favourites. Pelant of farming around just now. Pig farmers are in
trouble. Who will survive?

being fed stories about non-rural matters? Food banks are not just in
the countryside - they are everywhere. Where are the rural themes?

And would Shula really vanish up north for months with no end in sight -
of course not, probably come home at weekends and so on. A load of

Nah, no weekends for St Shula as she’s trying being a vicar for a 12 month.
Those I know well take usually a Friday off as a day off. Many will do
“social events” for the congregation on a Saturday when not engaged in
weddings.

And, nope, I can’t see “hard up” twin forking out the petrol, he’ll want
his so called rich brother or lady of the manor to foot the bill. I’m sure
Jolene would love to see the back of him occasionally during the year.
