This was on the radio on Monday. To be fair, it is thought that the 20mph
limit is for windy, single carriageway, short sections of road. They were
described as farm tracks that few people actually use, but have the
national speed limit, when it wouldnt be possible to reach that anyway.

Then, who is going to enforce it?
There are loads of 20mph limits around. Few people adhere to it. And
cameras only seem to be on the main roads.

No, just the Borders Council. Some of those are awful to drive on when
there is someone actually doing 20mph. The road through Galashiels is
one, the A7, loads of traffic from Carlisle to Edinburgh, wide roads, but
in a built up area, yet the houses are all a long way from the road.
There is no reason for such a low limit, but they have said all built up
areas are 20mph.
There's little enforcement though.

Entire boroughs of London. Merton went all-20 a few years ago, as did the City. There'll be others.

Been up that way over the weekend,came back the long way over the B709,
and stayed in Carlops (another 20 area).

Mate I was staying with said that since the 20 linit introduced plod
have not set any speed traps.

He had a chat with a local bobby, who said that the 20s were unenforcible.

TOG was done in a 20 limit in London. There are definitely checks made
in some areas. The limits/signage maybe questionable (20 limits versus
20 zones) but it's generally probably not worth it to fight any ticket
unless you are running out of points.
