The name is historic owing to the colour of the water and bits and
pieces that would wash up on the beach from processing whales back in
the day.

Nasty history but a spectacular beach today.

We often go to Whalers Cove which is just around the corner as access is
easier for kayaking, fishing, swimming and snorkeling all of which we
like to do.
