I assume the 4.5 for Wisley in the Subject is a typo. Even so, it was
surprisingly chilly in the SE on Thursday night. Friday night would have
been quite a contrast.

Hello John,

Yes the real min at Wisley that night was 7.5C. However, I'm sure you noticed that (as usual) it was in the high max temp list, giving a diurnal range of over 22degC. Wisley's site intrigues me - frequent high diurnal ranges and high maxes. Rural site, but on a slight hill (Weather Hill, naturally). In the Wey valley, but just how extreme are the temps beside the river Wey, i.e. off the hill? The northern side of the RHS gardens must have an extreme microclimate.
