Whatever you're doing now, I bet you've done it too much lately. Whether
it's paying for heating oil or trying to stifle a cough or firing off an
anti-tank missile, we have been drowning in an excess of excess lately.

Play:
--=--

Demon's Souls (PS5) - Ooh, Crimson Drake and Tower Knight down in one go.
I couldn't keep the streak going though, because I forgot that the
Maneater boss spawns a clone in the middle of the fight. I did do
something I hadn't done before in that all the major boss victories in the
Boletarian palace unlocked Pure White World Tendency, which I think means
free mayonnaise and dance lessons for life. Actually it means that some
unlocked portions of the map open up to you, which means I got to see the
Execution Grounds for the first time in any playthrough, and have an
encounter with an NPC boss character I hadn't interacted with before. It's
a good game, Brent.

Want:
--=--

Elden Ring (PS5/XSX) - Maybe? News of the servers being down this morning
for maintenance is likely a consequence of my idle purchase consideration.
I didn't find the disc anywhere at regular retail over the weekend, else
I'd have come home with one. It's more likely I'll wait for a later
release with all of the DLC included in the purchase (as a download code
only, with my luck) or maybe some other combination software pack that
only happens when you're drunk and bored at the same time.

Bin:
-==-

Nothing game-related.

Expenditure:
-----=-----

Balance forward - $1,702

-KKC, who hopes to be able to relax and play something different later.

Mr. Driller Drill Land (PS4) - or "Mr. DRILLER DrillLand" as PSN would
have it. I somehow failed to notice this releasing on PS4 late last
year, despite being aware that it was probably due at some point.
Anyway, action-puzzley block-drilling as ever, and it's been pretty
good so far. The varying modes are mostly decent enough, especially
the Druaga one with the slight RPG-ish-ness, and even Classic
difficulty hasn't been too crazy for me yet (though I expect that'll
change).

Mr. Driller Drill Land demo (PS4) - briefly tried this before buying
the game. It gives you a traditional 500m easy mode with no obvious
restrictions, which is arguably not the best demo possible for MDDL
but surprisingly good for a freebie.

Nothing.

MDDL's slightly odd appearance. The bordered play area is a strange
choice, I wonder if they started out by pixel-doubling the old
graphics or something.
