My R1200RS has the service indicator on. I want to reset it, so need a
dongle/reader to do that.
Any real life recommendations?
The GS-911 seems to be the main option, at a high price - £250+
I'm after the bargain option just to reset the service indicator and any
fault that shows up.
Any ideas?
Thanks.

Motoscan and OBDLink LX/MX, or I could do it for you, depending where
you are.

Thanks for the offer, but I'm 80+ miles from you, and I think I'll be
keeping this bike for a while, so buying one makes sense.
I've gone for this one:

When this turns up can you let us know how well it works?

I bought the same a couple of years ago to reset the service light on the XR, and did the same on Murray's K16. Unicarscan 2000 with a OBD2-to-BMW cable, and Motoscan through the Play store. The app costs a few quid, especially if you want to be able to use it with more than three bikes in total, but it works just fine. Much cheaper than a "proper" diagnostic tool, and certainly cheaper than paying for an annual service the bike doesn't need in the slightest.

Arrived today, pretty easy to set up, plug into the port, pair the reader
with the phone, put in the password, and it reads the data. The free
software is limited, I havent paid for the £35 version yet, but will do.
The free version does not reset the service reminder.
Some decent features, such as ABS brake bleed ,and allows adjustment of
various settings which are beyond me, but perfect for someone who knows
what they are doing/want.
£74 for the reader and round pin plug, £35 for the software, so not a
budget option, but certainly cheaper than 2 visits to a Dealer to get a
light reset.
