Eddie said he wouldn’t choose Brief Encounter for a romantic film because
it had a sad ending.

I mean, I felt very sorry the liversTWATBILI lovers couldn’t be together,
and I found the husband tedious by contrast, but I’m sure the intention was
that she should feel heppy ever after, having done what is undoubtedly the
right thing - no?

(Can’t wait to find out what his idea of a romantic film is!)
