Sadly, ever since I've upgraded my operating sytem to the latest version
of Mint, my good old well functioning Usenet client "Pan" stopped working
as intented (incompatibility with some GTK libraries). And no, I find
compiling a fault free version is a step too far for me, nor will I budder
my IT expert son with this problem).
I am forced to work under Wine with Windows optimised applications, which
is a real pain as special characters won't display properly and the
clipboard does not always work transfering content between Linux native
apps and the apps in the Wine compatibility layer.
But at least I am able to post again to Usenet not using that horrible
Thunderbird with its limited posting capabilities.
