The Guzzi I am getting back on the road has rust in the tank.
I've dried it all out, and got as much of the loose stuff out of it as
possible.
Now it needs to be sealed I should think, or just fill up,carry on, and
fit an inline fuel filter?
Is Petseal the stuff, or is there another wonder sealant out there?
Thanks.

My old Matcless (1943 G3 DR) had rather flaky paint in its tank by 1959
and I got it sand-blasted to remove the flaky stuff, then when it had
been washed-out and thorougly dried, I put a pint of fibreglass resin in
and turned it this way and that until the stuff had completely covered
the surface and stopped 'running'.

If you go this way, be sure you protect the outlet (tap) threads and
filler seal surface.

I've never heard of Petseal, but it *sounds* as if (Pet[rol]seal) it is
intended for the job. Keep watching the thread here and you're *almost*
sure to attract comment from someone who knows the product.

POR-15 is a popular one over here.

I've used Kreem but I don't think it adheres very well TBH.

You may also want to look into chelation rust removal before applying
the sealing product. I've seen some videos and write-ups and it's
pretty amazing. It seems that blackstrap molasses works as well as
the commercial products such as Evapo-Rust.

You only need a sealer if it's leaking, or the rust ate away enough
metal that it's likely to leak. If not, just kill the rust chemically.

Just so long as the paint lining isn't flaking, otherwise ou get clogged
filters - assuing you *have* filters.
