Sad news indeed.

My memory isn't what it used to be, but I know we met at a couple of
'French Runs'.

Last year, he insisted on sending me a couple of bottles of excellent
and appropriately Italian red wine, just for helping sort out a failed
software upgrade on the PHPBB installation for the Mini GP forum he ran.

A real gent.

guess you helped with, 'cos I can see your handle there.

I know he sold his mini a while back but do you think we should post

they'd notified a number of different places where he was known,

Thanks for this, Nige. I heard at the weekend, but this morning is
the first chance I've had to properly absorb it. It is indeed
incredibly sad. I'm happy his cat was with him, tho.

Just reinforces my personal world view that none of us know how long

Following the Dieppe French run he recommeneded a BBQ/Smoker to me.

In my usual way I dithered and forgot.

Out of respect[1] I went and bought the ProQ Frontier last week and did
my 1st "smoke" (chicken) yesterday.

Lots of fun messing with fire etc to set up.
Then sit and watch.
Then eat.
