I use Vodafone which recently switched off 3G. My "Network Cell Info" app
normally displays LTE.

However during calls made today, the app showed UMTS and on other calls it
showed HSPA.

Aren't UMTS and HSPA (whatever they are) associated with 3G? Does this
mean Vodafone is still using 3G occasionally?

There’s still a lot of active Vodafone 3G sites at the moment. I suspect it
is a rolling programme to refarm the spectrum to 4/5G
