Quite a few have had greyhound racing. Pretty sure Taunton was one.

It was Taunton. The first night it opened the race cards were late,
then the hare broke down, then twice the hounds caught the hare and to
top the evening off the meeting was almost abandoned because of fog.

That was from playfair March 1962
There was racing there until 1979.

Wee fuckers. It's would be worse at night, because they bring a lamp
and shine it at the rabbit and it doesn't even run away..

I like hare coursing.
If the course is 400 metres and the hare gets 250 metres start, the
hounds can still turn the hare. Coursing is legal in Ireland, heavily
regulated. If I told you that the hares are better trained than the
dogs you probably wouldn't believe me. The hares probably are better
trained than the hounds (hounds are fairly dumb), hares are caught,
and vaccinated and brought to the course, and then trained to be
coursed, they know the course and where their exit is.
Injuries to the hare are usually during the turn, if a hound manages
to make contact the muzzle can sometimes damage the hare.
