The computer says yes. After nearly a month the USA has provided a
response within their planned 3 - 5 working days!

Apparently it is correct that we only need an ESTA to visit the USA and
we can travel with our existing passports as we visited Cuba before it
started sponsoring state terrorism.

So for those who were bothered there is no need for either a visa or a
new passport and we will be visiting (on different trips) Alaska and the
Deep South later this year.

Apparently we cannot visit the Margaret Mitchell House as it has not
re-opened since covid. I actually think that there might be another
reason for it not being open (it is available to hire) but reading the
website there seems to be some concern over her representation within a
fictional work the nature of the estate workers who may not have been
entirely free in the depiction she provided. Oddly I thought it
concerned a war to resolve the employment status of those depicted but
apparently modern re-interpretation is needed of this dark piece of history.

And due to another downgrade I seem to have a signature problem

....and for similar reasons, you will no longer be able to take the
Splash Mountain ride at Walt Disney World.
