I think Rory will perhaps need advice and help as Julianne will find
someone who has less baggage. I also think Alice's drunken attack
had such a huge effect on him and made him feel so unwelcome in the
Aldridge family that it partly accounted for his being happy to let
Julianne take him over so completely.

It gave him a place to feel he belonged. If he is unable to be what
she wants now and loses his place he will struggle. She seems to have
cut him off from most other friends, unless one of the other women who
is looking for a similar employee takes him on :).

I haven't followed the link but your reaction reminds me of this, received
today, in a response to an email I sent to the local council last week:

"I can that you have made two tried to make two payments on 27th of
January."

It was sent quite early in the working day, I guess he wasn't properly
awake (and had never been told to check what he types).

Nah, this was Powys County Council, his first language may be Welsh.
