I don't think it actually scans, even though the lettercount is equal :)
and I was quite proud of the mixed metaphor, I have to say. But I
still have some way to go to reach the standard of Private Eye's
McGonagall, let alone the Parnassian heights of our own dear SODAM!

my USian skiing pals seemed to appreciate.

Be grateful: If you'd asked it to write in the style of Baldrick it
