I have to say the standard for a codgers 4ths is excellent. It beats
walk football anyday for sure.
If this match is the over 60s 4ths league, the 1sts league must be a
decent standard.

Great stuff. I recognise some of the problems as I played till 61. Getting up after a diving stop is harder than going down for it ! The throwing with a shot shoulder and in my case running with shot knees. I could still bat and catch ok at 61 but couldn't even jog between the stumps which wasn't fair on the other batsmen,

A friend of mine is 77 and he still turns out the odd time. I think he
wants to beat another older guy who last played when he was 78.
They're both fitter than I am.

i gave up diving after 30, never got it anyway. when i still played one of
our best bats played on despite hip surgery when he was 58. still smacked
the boundaries, everyone knew not to call, he would just walk 1 and stop.
woe to anyone who tried to take 2! but i wasnt impressed by the bowling
in the video. barely could pitch a ball!

i hope you scored a packet! i made my highest score ever for college when
we students played against an old boys XI. and they were old but not 82..
