Is the german server still the server of choice? I stump up my 10 euros every

I've been using eternal september free for the best part of 20 years,
ever since the Gerna server started charging.

I was happily paying for the German server for a number of years,
but for about the last 10 I've been using eternal september for free,
and I haven't seen any significant difference.

I've stuck with eternal September for ages with aioe as a backup. The backup has
failed aioe had a HW fail in January and is still dead. I assume now it is gone
for good.
