Now we have rocketing fuel/gas prices and decaying coal-burning
plants, all when Victoria is floating on a sea of brown coal.
Brown coal tech is old and understood and served well in the past. The
stuff can be burned, and turned into fuel if required (at some cost.)
Who can wait to see the populist politicians wriggle & squirm and try
to have a 24hr sun & constant wind velocity to keep energy prices
tolerable? They can't of course....whoopee!

Was it Jeff Kennet who sold the SEC to the private entities?
Yep; thereby getting it off the govt books and copping a financial
windfall to boot. And eliminating electoral backlash over price
rises.
And where did those entities get all that cash to pay Kennet? Guess!

It beggars all belief how a well run monopoly is more expensive than a
gaggle of market entities employing tons of people & engaging swarms
of consultants/accountants/etc.
