When I mount a network drive on my desktop it used to appear as an icon of a
blue drive with three people holding hands. It's changed to the regular drive
icon which looks like an internal hard disk. Anyone know why this should have
changed, and how I can get it back?

(Changing the size of the icons on the desktop brings back the old blue icon,
although I'm certain I haven't done this accidentally.)

I could be wrong but doesn't the three people icon indicate a shared volume or
folder? If file sharing was disabled, it would revert to its generic icon.

There is an invisible .ICON file at top level.
Somehow it is no longer recognised as such.

I've seen the opposite happen too:
Cheap generic externals acquiring a LaCie icon, after bulk copy,
