He was obviously a danger, but whether he was enough of a danger to the officer to merit extra-judicial termination, remains to be seen.

I guess, as it is elsewhere in the west, it will depend on the knifeman's ethnicity, religion and motivation, whether the public sympathise with whatever complaint he had or don't.

We've seen that before when racists and propagandist have been slavering to have a perpetrator identified as a Muslim, on the left or right wing, having to do a full one-eighty when it turns out it's one of their own.
