they really did, like Putin, is advertise how weak and unsophisticated
they really are [despite all the bluster], and give great cheer to their
enemy.

The moral of the story is you cannot launch an attack like this against
a well armed, well prepared, technologically superior enemy without
first engaging and degrading the enemies air defenses - And it is
exactly that which the mullahs, and all 2nd/3rd rate military powers,
are ill equipped to do [because they themselves are heavily protected].

Effectively engaging enemy air defense so that conventional weapons can
strike their targets is a whole separate ballgame from everything else,
the mullahs had no choice but to completely skip this aspect, and it shows.
0 for 300 hit ratio, quite possibly the lamest mass missile attack in
history. The Germans 70 years ago with their V weapons look like
absolute marksmen compared to this.

Its not as if they can simply buy ready made anti radar ordinance, slap
it on a drone and start taking out radars. The US has special aircraft &
weapons, Wild Weasels & ARM's, specifically designed for this mission,
and the men, aircraft and weapons have been honed to a razors edge for
decades, since Vietnam.
We may suck at nation building but absolutely excel with infrastructure
attacks, both civilian and military.
We have stealth missiles that can loiter over a battlefield, then home
in on and destroy an enemy radar when turned on.
Stealthy attack aircraft, AWACS and a dozen other specialty military
systems designed to attack military infrastructure, the mullahs can only
wistfully dream of, forever out of their reach.

This was a crude brute force attack, hoping they could overwhelm enemy
defenses by sheer numbers, and they have aptly demonstrated the fallacy
of such a strategy.
Hell, even a nuclear warhead is not much good if there is no way to
deliver it.

China's scenarios for invading Taiwan could be altered following Iran's
failed attack on Israel, report says

Iran launched more than 300 drones and missiles in a direct attack on
Israel last week, but Israel and its allies were able to shoot down most
of the munitions.

Rupert Hammond-Chambers, the president of the US-Taiwan Business
Council, told The Telegraph that China would likely look at the incident
to work out how it could get past the technology and the alliance that
foiled the attack.

"They will be picking apart what transpired, not just in the way in
which the Iranians attacked but also how we responded – the Israelis and
the coalition that supported them," he said.

"The kill rate for the drones and the missiles was extremely high,
almost perfect. The walk-away for the PLA [People's Liberation Army]
will be that the Americans and their allies have the technology to
significantly blunt an attack," he added.
