I think it should be possible - but in System Preferences >Family >
Subscriptions it says "Not sharing" by their name.

Yes - the only option is: Stop Sharing with Family.

Which iOS are you using?

Here my wife and I form a family. What is shared can be easily finetuned.

You need a storage plan. Does not work with a free account.

Iffffff I recall correctly (and I can't test it just now) the family
member in question has to join the offered shared storage from their
account, rather than you push it on them.

I had to ask my lil sister to go get her own since she was using 130gig
of my 200gig and I wasn't going to jump up to the next level; she had to
disconnect at her end. She's still in the family group but no longer
using the family iCloud storage.

Cheers - Jaimie

I don't think so. I'm sure I've usually added a family mamber in *my*
account, using their AppleID, and they get a notification to accept
joining it. If they don;t accept then they can't use it.

You do need to have the 200GB or 2TB accounts too, it doesn't work with
the 50GB.

Hmm, mine has 'Remove xxxxxx From Family'. I think you can do this from
either end of the chain.

Also, they can stay a family member for the rest of it, and choose to
use their own storage option.

Interesting, I didn't know that was possible thinking it's either IN or OUT
completely.

A bit OT but I hope they will offer something like 10TB. The max has been 2TB
for a long time.

Right! Where do you see this? Because this looks like the answer.

The exact details will depend on the device you're doing it on, but
generally:

System Preferences
1 Click on your iCloud ID at the top
2 Family Sharing item
3 Click 'Add Member' button
4 Invite Others
5 Select person on your contacts - or add sending an iMessage, Email, or
use local Airdrop directly to their device.

They will then get a notification popping up asking them to accept your
invitation. That should be it. You should get a confirmation that they
accepted. If you don't get that, then you know they didn't do it right.

Not completely. They can join the group, for sharing other stuff, like
if you have other services (Music, TV, News etc. or even a One account).
But they can choose to buy their own storage separately.

From Apple Support:

"If a family member is already paying for their own iCloud+ plan, they
can choose to switch to your plan or keep their own and still remain a
part of the family. When they switch to the shared family plan, they get
a refund for the remainder of their personal plan. They can't keep their
current plan and use the shared family plan at the same time."

https://support.apple.com/en-gb/HT208147

Leaving a Family can be done either by the owner removing them, or the
recipient choosing to leave it.

This:

seems to be saying that it should work with the 50GB account too (second

/You/ can't, it's down to the Family members to choose. They can go into
their account settings and buy their own iCloud Storage option, and
switch to that instead. You can see how much each of them is using
though (under Family Usage)

There's also a way to buy more storage for yourself, if you happen to be
one of those that set up seperate iCloud and Purchasing accounts -
potentially giving you 4TB of storage (although I haven't worked out how
to do that yet as I don't need it).

But, there's a load of articles about all this on the Apple site, I'd
have a rummage round in there and see if it clears up anything (to be
honest, they don't realy make it that clear *how* to do some of it, only
that you *can*!)
