The agency model and fixed (and way too expensive) pricing plus stale
and uninspired cars that have been trading off a name for way too long
will probably see the end of Honda in Australia.

They were outstanding cars a loooong time ago but they are just also ran
cars now competing against cheaper and better supported makes/models
with same features.

It took Honda 20 years longer than Toyota to decide hybrids were the way
forward for instance.

**Well, that's not entirely true. Honda was the first company to launch
a hybrid in Australia:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_Insight

Though Toyota beat them internationally by 2 years (not 20):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Toyota_Prius

Toyota beat Honda, by using a larger battery, providing superior fuel
economy (which why the Prius was such a major seller).

It's odd too in that Honda had a hybrid on the road *before* Toyota but
it was a *minimalist hybrid* at best. Probably why it didn't catch on.
Toyota got it right from the get go with the Prius and sold a shitload
of them.
