Our former club president was in his 90s. He would congratulate
coloured players and praise them by saying things like - "If it wasn't
for you darkies this club wouldn't exist". It was a bit of a cringe,

Another late club member would have been about 80 when he died last
year, would shout at fielders where he was watching and attempt to set
the field - " Paki move around a bit", he was a Yorkshire man. Hardly
anyone could understand his accent, anyone called Patrick thought he
was shouting at them.

,Now let me see , a year or so ago I managed to get a good approximation of DR BM's age. I established that he must have entered Nottingham High School circa 1950. NHS is a public school but does not take all their intake to the senior school because the school takes children from the age of 11 - most public schools then and many today take pupils at 13 having used the Common Entrance exam.

Dr B-M undoubtedly entered the school around 1950 presumably aged 13. If it was 1950 then Dr B-M would be 83. If it was later he might just be under 80. Bu if his exactly age may be uncertain it is only by a year or so. RH

My mate was born in Bristol and he lived there until he was 6 or 7
years old. He had a strong accent. When he was around 18 he had to go
back to Bristol for a year. He told me that he went to the local pub

After Lewis Hamilton ran Max of the Road at Silverstone I make a comment that I would expect a "necktie party" at the Dutch GP ..... if anything that was a go at the Crazy Dutch Fans but I was banned because someone looked it up and found on the web it was something about lynching Negroes in America and seeing how Lewis is black I was deemed a racist.
