Yes it is. About once per year I attempt to remove any apps I haven’t used
for a while on my iPhone and iPad. The best I’ve managed to get it down to
is 2 screen fills on each. Currently I’ve 4 screen fulls on both so maybe
the time has come to get out my virtual pruning shears!

I like his approach. My phone is cluttered up with apps thaat I never actully
use. Maybe I should spend some dedicated time to pruning them.

One way, perhaps, would be to put them ll in a folder and then fish out those
that I keep using.

I make use of folders too. For instance I created one called iWork to hold
the Pages, Numbers and Keynote apps.

That's definately a good idea! I try and keep my lock/home screens
wallpaper fairly plain (and I don't have any lockscreen widgets).
Recently I became aware that the App Store icon always seemed to have
update indicators (sometimes up to 9 or 10!) I've tried culling apps in
the past but wasn't very diligent about it. Now I wait until an app has
an update and conciously decide if I need to keep it. If I don't (or am
unlikely to need it - I can always re-download it I suppose) I delete
it from there instead of updating it. Of course, some apps rarely get
updates (if ever), so an occasional manual cull is still required.

You may enjoy knowing that Apple provide that as a default now - if you
go to delete an app, the choices popping up are

Delete App
Remove from Home Screen
Cancel

The middle option removes the icon but leaves it in the App Library,
which you get to if you swipe past your last screen.

Just checked and I've about 200. Of which maybe 10 get regular use, another 10
a few times a year.

Time for a cull!
