Hi Urglers

I'm back after a long absence! Now retired we have moved house so have a
different garden to care for. Despite having little knowledge or skill
my fingers are slowly growing a little greener!

I have a question. In the new garden we have inherited two large fruit
cages, one containing some rather sickly Blueberry bushes. What should I
be feeding them to encourage new growth and fruit?

Mike

I'd be more inclined to mulch them with something lime free and perhaps
a slow release acid feed. Miracid or rhododendron ericaceous feed. eg

Mine are not into leaf yet. Blueberries certainly need to be in a fruit
cage - the birds will kill for them!

I always feed at this time of the year with an ericaceous feed, and
sometimes again as the fruit develops. As mine are in pots, I always use
rainwater on them, not the horrible tap water we have in this part of
the world!

Thanks guys, I've now given them their first ericaceous feed.
