I have moved homes and I plugged my router into the NBN modem and my
internet worked straightaway. My Optus relocation is only due to happen
in a week's time.

Should I use this internet service? Will the previous resident get
billed for my usage? I have a 4G Wifi modem to use instead of I need to.

Do a speedtest.net check if a good connection ring provider and ask
what the cost.

IIRC, it's the *modem* to which your account is billed, not the NBN
connection at the wall. Moving it should make no difference. It used to
be the case where you could move the modem to another residence keeping
keeping your IP address. That would be something you could check.
