Apple 6 watch is freestanding phone with its own sim and not tied to
cell phone, do you get booked if you touch it while driving? :)
(do not think wrist is an approved cradle)

Nope, summarily executed with a bullet in the back of the neck.

Bit hard for the mobile phone cameras to work out that it’s a 6 tho.

You can get a hands free device that answers/intercepts mobile then
allows one to reply

Doesn't answer the question if the wrist is an approved holder.

The technology has really overtaken the law. In NSW the Road Rule refers
to a "mobile phone", and does not define the term. So the expression has
its everyday meaning.

Asked "what is this", few people would look at the Apple watch and say
"a mobile phone".

http://www.austlii.edu.au/cgi-bin/viewdoc/au/legis/nsw/consol_reg/rr2014104/s300.html

Even if my argument doesn't stand up, I think you're OK provided you
comply with (1)(a)(ii). It would be a stretch to argue that moving your
arm constitutes manipulating.

Sylvia.
