our council used to faff about at chrimbo, rotating whose bins were emtied which
days to "share out" the bank holiday disruption per street over the years ...
now they're realised it's easier to just stick to the same days of week per
street *all* *the* *time*

Our bin day is a friday, and they now collect every friday, except if it's
actually christmas day or new years day, in which case they do a saturday
collection instead.
