I'm contemplating buying a new set of secateurs with a (leather?) holster
and Spear & Jackson seem to be affordable.

They used to be a premium brand.

Are they still good, or has the brand been sold on?

My mother bought me two pairs, a big one and a small one. My wife really
liked the small ones, suited her hand size, but they vanished. We
suspect into the council green bin :(

There's something to be said for not spending too much...
